FT2 Dev Continues… — May 21, 2008
Kind of a pointless post, but more than anything I want to let everyone know that I’m still working on Form Tools 2. I took a month off while I moved back to Vancouver and got re-settled, but now I’m back on track. For a bit of variety, I’m focusing on adding some user management functionality to this website to allow programmers to upload & manage their modules & themes.
Guess that’s all I have to report just now…!
What’s Up! — April 29, 2008
Hi folks,
I thought I’d make a quick post to let you know what’s up going on with the Form Tools project. I know I haven’t been terribly active in the forums of late - for which I’m really sorry - I’m just trying to juggle a lot of things, and that was one of the balls I rather let go. I’m a baaad person.
Just so everyone knows: Form Tools 2 is alive and well. I’ve been working on it quite steadily for several months and at this point I’ve solved (and coded) a good 80% of the script. Up until a week ago I was focusing on a couple of the larger modules (Image Manager and the Export Manager), but I’m taking a break to work on a few smaller projects (including a rewrite of the validation script that comes bundled with Form Tools) and generally catch up with other work.
In terms of a timeline, I’m going to shoot for getting a Beta out the door for late Summer / early Fall. I know I’d previously been shooting for early summer, but unless I win the lottery and can spend all my time on it, it doesn’t look very likely. Sadly, I have to make a living too. Due to the new changes in Form Tools 2 I also need to improve this site to allow you guys to upload, download, rate, edit etc. your own modules and themes. Plus the user doc has to be GREATLY expanded. So late Summer / early Fall sounds like a reasonable estimate.
Anyway, I’m moving back to Vancouver on Friday, so I’d better get back to packing boxes. Not to bash Saskatchewan, but boy am I looking forward to getting back. 
Form Tools 1.5.1 Released — March 4, 2008
Hi folks,
It recently came to my attention that I accidentally introduced a small security hole into version 1.5.0. This new release plugs the leak and fixes a number of more aggravating old bugs, as such it is a recommended upgrade. Thanks to everyone that helped identify the problems and report the bugs!
- Security fix. Issue on servers with register globals enabled. This bug was introduced in 1.5.0.
- Problem deleting files from client account [089]
- Email template bug fix for “omit empty fields”. There was a bug in the previous templates causing some emails to get missed. [085]
- Closing ?> removed for main code files (including library.php). This is a common cause for the “Step 2 Blank Page bug”

Italian Translation Complete! — February 20, 2008
Just a quick note to say that the Italian translation has been completed and is available for download, thanks to Diego Meozzi for his hard work!
As always, all completed translations need reviewing. In order to become fully trusted, we need 3 independent translators to review them. So if you’d care to lend a hand, just drop me a line.
